Eth merge is a planned event to move the Ethereum blockchain from proof-of-work consensus to Proof-of-stake.

What's the need?

What's the need?

The consensus will help Ethereum lower down the congestion issue and increase the transaction speed from 15 tps to 1500 tps.

Will it reduce Gas Fee?

In short-term, No. The gas fee will not reduce immediately but over a period of time. Likely within a year.

If you're holding Ethereum tokens in the wallet. Be assured, it will be safe. However, maintain the following cautions.
