On May 2021, Crypto.com accidentally transferred $10.5 million to Thevamanogari Manivel instead of issuing refund for $100.

Instead of processing the refund, someone from Crypto.com entered the account number in place of the refund amount.

It's only after seven months in Dec 2021 audit, the company realised its mistake and filed the lawsuit against the lady

The money gone

The money gone

In 7 months time, Manivel (the lady) spent most of the money by purchasing properties and other luxury items.

The Court has ordered Manivel to return all the money by selling the properties bought during extravagant spending
