Indian Couple in Lockdown Life | Our Lockdown diaries

India witnessed a lockdown life and we the young Indian couple were locked inside our house, a look at the week into our lockdown diaries. Sharing our couple story in lockdown. Right from cooking the menu to choosing the games to play together. We had it sorted out on how to get through this period of self-isolation.

Start of Lockdown in India:

It all started at the end of March 2020 when the Indian government announced a nationwide lockdown. This is something that has never ever happened in our lives before. The spread of the virus was so intense with the potential to threaten human life.

As a couple, we quickly got in motion and stocked the necessary items that lasted for a month or less. We didn’t overbuy like some of the people did which led to the complete inventory stock out of hand sanitisers, tissue papers, and ready to eat food items.

Our Lockdown Survival Recipe:

The city turned less noisy and pollution-free within weeks after lockdown. A breath of fresh air in one of the most polluted cities in the world was a miracle. We started our day having a good and heavy Indian meal which is “Aloo ka Parantha” with some milk and switched to a vegetarian diet for the most part.

The work was still on, working from home for long hours was the new normal. How should one keep himself entertained when you can’t even step out of the door. Well, we found a great idea.

We stocked a set of board games and we loved playing them together like monopoly, chess, etc to name a few. It was so much fun to spent time together and be like a child when no one was watching or interfering in our lives. Here’s our Lockdown Survival kit –

Indian Couple Lockdown Diaries, Survival Kit :

S.NoLockdown Kit
1Month’s groceries without overbuying shit you don’t need
2Keep board games handy
3Create a movie calendar together
4Ice- creams to spice up the fun factor
5Give each other personal space. A necessary Me time

We chalked out our movie calendar, the list of movies we wished to watch together while having a chocolate-vanilla scoop in between. Playing Ludo was the only thing that let us connect with strangers and enjoy the day.

We literally didn’t step out for the next 3 months and orders food online through BigBasket. It was a different yet challenging experience so far. But what is life without one? We grew together from it and learned that we actually enjoyed our time together.

Nothing to show, nothing to flaunt, that’s what a relationship is about, to be the child again and enjoy the moments together while learning from each other along the way.

That was the story of us, An Indian couple in a lockdown life. Our Lockdown diaries. Remember to Like and Share the post and checkout our new vlog post on Hyderabad to Dharamshala Airtrip
