Day-2 of jobless employee podcast series
Welcome to Day 2, Episode 2 of the emotional journey of a jobless employee podcast series by Katoch Tubes. It’s over 24 hours since I lost my job, broke my regular schedule, and trying to find a way out from being getting depressed or impatient.
The theme for day -2 is “overcoming uncertainties.“
When a schedule gets broken we as a human being tend to panic because it directs us towards uncertainties which we all are afraid of, Right!
Well, that’s my situation right now, I hope some of you can relate to me, If yes, Do share this message in your feeds.
It’s Day-2 What am I gonna do today? That’s a big question mark. Before I tell you what I have planned today, let me take you through what I call a daily work routine or job schedule that I use to follow when I had the job of Online Sales Manager. Breaking it down hourly, Here I go –
6:00 – 7:00 am Get up and gym
9: 00 am – Reach office & plan the day
10:00 am -1:00 pm – Compile last day data, report online sales, discuss the good or bad from yesterday with the team,
1:00 – 2:00 pm Lunch, bitching, do and listen to useless talks
2:00 – 5:00 pm Attend team meetings if any & work on online sales improvement. Listen to nosy boss, be there with toxic people and hope the day ends soon
5:00 – 7: 00 Again hope to get off from work early without any immediate meeting
7:00 – 9:00 pm Reach home , Hug wife, Have dinner together
9:00 – 11:00 pm: Side hustle, work on my Youtube channel, Review my trade, Check the affiliate program, read books, Build social media presence of our channel.
And then repeat again.
So you see it’s a pretty planned out schedule for me. And now the part between 9:00 am to 7:00 pm is just gone. I mean literally vanished. Have you ever faced such a problem where you have time but don’t know how to kill it?
Seems like a Mid life Crisis to me! Well day 2 is all about Nostalgia.
The question I kept on asking myself on day 2 is – Were leaving the job environment a good decision or not. What’s going on inside me and I believe most of the people in a similar situation will think, what next, how to get the next job faster?
And the worst part of being an Indian, everyone here will never forget to remind you to get a job fast even if you don’t want to get it that fast. Here’s what I thought about losing and winning in this 24 hours period –
I lost a job, I lost a payday, I lost toxic people, I lost going to the place I started disliking, I lost my enforced routine.
What I gained? I gained time
That’s it. I gained a hell lot of time. Isn’t the time being the most valuable asset we have? Let me know if you agree, drop your thoughts on my twitter account- @paraskatoch.
I feel that working for years made me less creative and more of a machine but having no job making me creative like crazy. I never did a podcast this long before, never, I never spent more time with my family since I joined the workforce, and I never felt this free.
Frankly in your initial days you will feel like a millionaire when you lose job . There’s an emotion of freedom inside me now. Isn’t it great , Day 2 is great to reflect back and realize all happens for your own good.
Moving forward, to keep the depressed feeling away, I am going to plan my own schedule now – An hourly calendar and activity, Which I will cover in the Day 3 of the podcast.
I take it off now. If you’re listening to me and in a similar situation, I have a message for you- If you think you’re going through hell just keep going there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. See you in the next episode.
