Now bankrupt Crypto King “Aiden Pleterski” held for ransom after duping investors worth millions of dollars.
Canada’s self-proclaimed crypto king was kidnapped, tortured and held for ransom worth $3 million after his involvement in a crypto investing scam that duped investors worth millions of dollars.
23 years old Pleterski petitioned for bankruptcy last year in August and is accused of running a fake investment scheme.
Claims worth $25 million Canadian dollars have been filed against the accused. Pleterski assured investors of returning back the amount but he kept them in the dark.
Of the $41.5 million he received after pooling in money, he spent $16 million to support his “personal lifestyle”. Renting private jets, buying luxury cars and exotic vacations were part of the list.
In December, it was notified to the Toronto Police that Pleterski was kidnapped and a ransom was demanded by the kidnapper.
His father’s testimony further stated that his son was kept for three days in captivity, assaulted and tortured and forced to make calls to collect the ransom money.
In November 2021, he declared losing all his investments and then took high-risk positions to return the money borrowed from the investors. The plan ultimately failed.
According to him, the kidnappers have released him with the condition that he has to bring back the money fast.
